CAUAYAN CITY- There are three municipalities and one City in region 2 has recorded COVID 19 local transmission.
In an interview, Regional Director Rio Magpantay of DOH region 2 announced that the four with local transmission are the towns of Gamu, Roxas, Naguillian and Ilagan city which are all areas in Isabela.
Dr. Magpantay, he said, there can be no local transmission in the aforementioned towns and cities when within four days there is no longer a positive test for the virus.
Dr. Magpantay clarified that the source of local transmission in the aforementioned areas is locally stranded individuals.
Dr. Magpantay further revealed to prevent infection, LSI and Returning Overseas Filipinos should not be sent home immediately even if they take a negative PCR or swab test and complete the fourteen-day quarantine.
To prevent the spread of the virus in the region, LGUs will implement stricter rules.
