The death toll from the six regions hit by Typhoon Ulysses has doubled.
According to NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) spokesperson Mark Timbal, it has risen to 67 and the one with the most fatalities is Region 2 which has recorded 22.
Region 3 came in second with two; CALABARZON (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon), at 17; Region 5 and National Capital Region, with eight dead each; and in the Cordillera Region is at 10.
The wounded were up to 21 from Region 3, CALABARZON, Region 5 and Cordillera Region; while 12 individuals are missing.
Timbal said that so far, they have not released the number of individuals rescued by the government.
For now, the government is still focused on response operatons on the ground.
“Ang priority po ngayon ay maisagawa ang mga response operations on the ground. Hindi namin kinukulit ng labis ang mga kasamahan natin sa groound to submit their reports since they are also involved in the coordination of response,” Timbal said.
On the Philippine National Police (PNP) side, 23 people have been reported dead in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
The said data is as of 9:00 PM of November 14, 2020.
The PNP has also recorded about 50,326 individuals rescued from Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Batanes and Santiago City.
