The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) today confirmed that they will allow domestic flights to travel to areas under the general community quarantine (GCQ).
CAAP Spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the procedures for gradual opening of domestic airports have been submitted to the Department of Transportation (DoTr).
But it clarified that flights should be the same as GCQs because if they go to areas under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) there will be problems.
The official added that health protocols will still be considered for opening operations at airports such as wearing protective equipment and following social distancing.
Unfortunately for Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), several flights to the country have been suspended due to the implementation of the community quarantine in March.
