CEBU CITY – Legal counsel expects eight arrests after protesting at the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Campus to be temporarily set free.
This was after the inquest proceedings were filed with the City Prosecutor’s Office to deal with the PNP’s case against them.
According to Atty. King Anthony Perez, spokesperson for legal counsel in the Bombo Radio interview, said they are awaiting a copy of the complaint.
The arrested are now trying to pay off the fiscal bail, but they are still following the process in accordance with the health protocols.
He said they were doing everything possible to facilitate their role, but government banks were closed on Sundays and weeks. It was learned that many had offered to have seven protesters bail and a bystander who had just expressed his frustration at the immediate passing of the Anti Terrorism Bill.
Former Senatorial Candidate Neri Colmenares will represent the protesters.
