CENTRAL MINDANAO – The Region 12 Regional Anti-crime Unit is now reminding netizens who are comfortable using the updated Face App.
According to Major Leo Dofelis of the Regional Anti-crime Unit, such a mobile application is particularly dangerous when it comes to a user’s personal information where the installation is still a security risk.
This means that with the user’s consent, the Face App will be able to access all of its personal data such as e-mail accounts, credit cards and passwords of certain social media accounts.
Dofelis added that this would also be a way for a hacker to access information that can be used to create fake accounts and cyber crime.
Thus, the agency is now cautioning to closely scrutinize the terms and agreements of using mobile apps to prevent such incidents as a user has no claim for victimization.
Face App is a popular and trendy mobile app today where a user can change the face to a picture that will be female, male, old and so on depending on the options available here.
