Netizens have discovered that Deputy Speaker LRay Villafuerte’s Facebook page was formerly a fan page for GMA actor Jake Vargas. The discovery comes after news broke of ABS-CBN stars’ fan pages having received offers for purchase.
The page now acts as the official Facebook presence for the congressman who advised ABS-CBN’s owners to sell the network during its shutdown proceedings. This was not always the case, however, as Facebook’s page transparency shows the page’s full history of name changes.
Created on Feb. 1, 2011, the page first served as a fan-made page for actor Jake Vargas. On March 26, 2016, page owners changed its name to “Jake Villafuerte” and then to “Lray Villafuerte” — its current iteration — on April 22, 2016.
Actress Bea Alonzo recently posted that her fans received offers from unnamed buyers to sell their social media accounts. Offers targeted fanpages with specifically sizeable social media following.

Update: The page of Governor Migz Villafuerte, son of Cong. Lray Villafuerte, was also once a different page. The page was created on Jan. 9, 2014 as “McDonald’s Sexret files” then was renamed to “Gov Migz Villafuerte 2016” on Nov. 12, 2015.

Bea, then Angel, then Maja revealed that some people have reached out to their fan page accounts asking to buy the accounts (with a large following). We don't know sino ito at bakit nila gustong bilhin, but dear fandoms, as @mjfelipe said, please hold the line. ✊🏼❤💚💙 pic.twitter.com/ahyhiSlgxM
