President Rodrigo Duterte has already signed the P4.5 trillion 2021 General Appropriations Act.
President Duterte said that this only reflects the importance of active and close coordination between the Executive and the Legislature especially now that the health and welfare of Filipinos is at stake.
The largest part of the budget is allocated for education, followed by infrastructure while health is third.
This budget also includes P72.5 billion for the purchase, storage, transportation and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
President Duterte assured the public that the administration will appropriately use its resources to address the impact of the pandemic on the country.
