President Rodrigo Duterte appointed former Justice Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre II as Commissioner of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).
This was confirmed by Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque on Monday night.
“We confirm that President Rodrigo Toa Duterte has signed the appointment of Mr. Vitaliano “Vit” Aguirre II as Commissioner of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) representing the private sector, ”said Sec. Roque.
Aguirre served as secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Duterte administration from 2016 to 2018.
Sec. Roque, his previous role in the government will help in his new position to make the police service competent, effective, responsive and credible to the needs of Filipinos.
Roque conveyed his message of “good luck wish” at his new appointment.
