Actor John Regala suddenly fainted, assisted by a deliveryman in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines – A food delivery driver did not leave until veteran actor John Regala got help after feeling unwell in Pasay City, Monday afternoon.

On July 27, the veteran villain and action star asked for help from Carlo Marti Clariza – a Grab Food driver – after fainting while looking for his nurse to inject his medicine into “gout.”

“The nurse who injected him with medicine for his gout is from [barangay 183, Pasay],” Carlo said.

“Taga-roon daw [sa baranggay 183, Pasay] po yung nurse na nag-i-inject sa kanya ng gamot para sa gout niya,”he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

He said the rider immediately approached the guards and police to ask for help for the actor, who is his idol.

The good Samaritan decided not to leave Regala immediately, even if he still had a job.

“[M]asakit lang isipin na ang dating idolong kontrabida ay nasa ganyang kondisyon,”he continued.

“Kaya mas minabuti ko munang hindi umalis hanggat di pa siya naaasikaso kahit na ako’y may deliver pa.”

Carlo is very grateful to the guards and health workers who extended their help yesterday.

Just this year, John’s mother Ruby Regala (Susan Gregorio in real life), also an actress, passed away after a vein ruptured in the brain and caused a blood clot caused by a tumor.

His “brothers” in Iglesia ni Cristo participated in the treatment and repatriation of his mother’s remains, who were then in America when he passed away.

John became famous as a villain in action movies in the ’90s, and even won “Best Supporting Actor” at the 2011 Metro Manila Film festival for the movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.”
