Convicted high-profile drug lord Jaybee Sebastian has died due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Based on a copy of a death certificate stating that the cause of Sebastian’s death was acute myocardial infarction or heart attack and COVID-19 as “other significant condition”.
At the age of 40, the inmate allegedly died yesterday, July 18, at the New Bilibid Prison Hospital in Muntinlupa City.
Its report was confirmed by an official from Panteon de Dasmarinas in Cavite where the remains of the high-profile drug convict were allegedly cremated.
According to the officer in charge of the public cemetery, Sebastian’s body arrived at their facility at 9:22 last night and the cremation took two hours.
Aside from Sebastian, three other high-profile drug convicts are said to have been cremated at the said facility.
Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra is the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag regarding the deaths of some high-profile drug convicts.
At a House hearing in 2016, some of his fellow inmates pointed to Sebastian as a well-known drug lord inside Bilibid.
