The total number of recorded COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is 182,365, according to the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).
Based on the case bulletin released by the agency, only 103 out of 109 laboratories submitted their reports so the number of new cases of the disease reached 4,786.
Of the said numbers, most are still from the National Capital Region, Region 4A and Region 3. Most of them have been positive in the past 14 days.
“Of the 4,786 reported cases today, 3,702 (77%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 8-21, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (2,074 or 56%), Region 4A (670 or 18%) and Region 3 (259 or 7%). ”
The number of those still recovering is about 65,000, most of them mild cases.
Meanwhile, total recoveries are hitting 114,519 due to 616 added to the list of cured.
59 deaths were added to the total number of 2,940 deaths.
According to the DOH, they have removed 443 duplicates from the total case count. 189 here are recovered cases.
“Moreover, there were twenty-two (22) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths (6) and active (16) cases. There’s also two (2) cases that were previously reported as death but have been validated as active cases. ”
