The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines rose to 311,694 after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 2,426 new cases of the disease.
According to the agency, this is the result of the submission of all laboratories to their COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS).
“Of the 2,426 reported cases today, 2,113 (87%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 17 – September 30, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (746 or 35%), Region 4A (485 or 23%) and Region 10 (152 or 7%). ”
Meanwhile, the number of those still recovering is at 52,702.
The number of healers increased by 585 so the total was 253,488. While 58 is additional to the total death count of 5,504. Of the 58 deaths, 42 occurred in September (72%), 12 in August (21%) and 4 in July (7%). Deaths were from NCR (20 or 34%), Region 6 (16 or 28%), Region 4A (8 or 14%), Region 11 (5 or 9%), Region 7 (3 or 5%), Region 9 ( 3 or 5%), Region 12 (2 or 3%), and Region 5 (1 or 2%). ”
According to the agency, 35 duplicates were removed from the total case count. These include 13 recoveries and two death cases.
There were also 14 recovered cases replaced by tagging after it was determined that they were all dead.
