The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has reached 161,253, due to 3,420 new cases of the disease.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the results of the submission of 99 out of 105 laboratories reported more than 3,000 new cases today.
Of the newly reported cases, 80% or 2,745 tested positive in the past 14 days.
“The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,594), Region 4A (619), and Region 7 (86).”
The active cases or those still being monitored are now at 46,002. It consists of 90.7% mild, 6.7% asymptomatic, 1.1% severe, and 1.5% critical cases.
Meanwhile, due to the ongoing implementation of Oplan Recovery, the total recoveries have risen to 112,586. The agency reported as many as 40,397 newly recovered.
“914 were based on what was reported, while 39,483 were time-based recoveries.”
The Health department also reported 65 additional deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,665.
“There were 85 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, five recovered cases have been removed. Moreover, there were 15 cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were 12 deaths and three active cases. ”
