The National Privacy Commission (NPC) is also investigating reports of fake fake accounts on the social media platform Facebook.
In a statement, Privacy Commissioner Raymund Liboro said the agency is continuing to monitor who is behind the accounts using the names of many individuals.
To date, NPCs continue to receive reports from various sectors, particularly schools.
“While the extent of these incidents are not yet fully determined at this time, we have been receiving reports from different sectors, mostly coming from academic institutions.”
The office has spoken to the leadership of Facebook Philippines who are also investigating the incident.
Liboro also ordered the company to immediately report its available information on the situation.
