VIGAN CITY – The Ilocos Sur provincial government may ask the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases to restore or reintegrate the province into enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) after Ilocos Sur subdues the general community quarantine (GCQ ) starting yesterday, May 1st.
This was after yesterday seeing residents apparently abusing GCQ due to their influx in various markets and markets where social distancing was apparently not being followed to prevent Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Governor Ryan Singson said they have completed the draft of the request letter for the matter as they received many complaints from some concerned citizens for fear of having a second wave of such a pandemic in Ilocos Sur.
Should the provincial government monitor that residents are abusing and violating the province’s GCQ, the governor will not hesitate to sign the request letter and submit it to the IATF.
