Actress Iza Calzado is still giving her fans a smile — even when it’s from her hospital bed.
The actress, 37, shared Wednesday morning that she had been hospitalized one day after disclosing she had a high fever and had thrown out her back and now confined at a hospital for pneumonia while waiting for her COVID-19 (corona Virus) test results
According to Mayo Clinic, pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs that causes cough with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. There are many contributing factors to developing pneumonia, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. The infection can range in seriousness from mild to life-threatening and should be treated by a doctor.
Calzado admitted that it’s been a challenging period for her, but her state-of-being is nothing compared to the work of the medical workers and frontliners who are caring for her.
“It’s been a challenging time for me but it cannot compare to the frontliners who have cared for me and to whom I am so grateful. My heart goes out to everyone in these trying times, especially those who risk their lives every day to care for their loved ones,” she said.
In a series of posts on her Instagram, She also appealed for prayers for those who are battling the disease, both patients and health workers. “I am hoping you all can join me in prayer for those who are currently sick and their loved ones, for every person struggling to cope in these tough times. And most especially, for the medical workers who are doing their best despite the hurdles.”
“I count this time as an opportunity to be kind. To be a source of love and light. With the grace of God, I can fight this and we all fight this together. ❤️,” she ended her post.
