Marcelito Pomoy is 3rd runner-up in 'America's Got Talent: The Champions'

Pinoy Pride Marcelito Pomoy on Monday (Manila Time) finishes 3rd runner-up in America’s Got Talent: The Champion.

Marcelito Pomoy has failed to clinch the top spot in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”

Despite giving his best for his final performance last week, the Filipino singer ended his journey as third runner-up on Tuesday (Manila time).

“He just wanted to say thank you. Thank you so much to everybody. This is a big opportunity for him. Thank you so much,” said Pomoy’s wife, who joined him on stage after the announcement.

Judge Heidi Klum also sent love Pomoy’s way.

“I love you so much. You have the most beautiful voice. I should actually say the most beautiful voices inside of you. You are a champion. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us,” Klum said.

Around 40 participants from across the Got Talent franchise, ranging from winners, live round participants – quarter-finalists (where applicable), semi-finalists and finalists – and other notable acts, will participate during The Champions contest in 2020, with each of the contest’s preliminaries featuring around 10 participants. While those receiving a golden buzzer in each preliminary would secure an automatic place in the grand-final, remaining places would be competed for in two semi-finals, each consisting of the two highest voted in each preliminary, along with a third in each voted for by the judges from amongst those placing 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively in the audience vote.

“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” named the acrobatic dance group V. Unbeatable as its new winner.

Sandou Trio Russian Bar placed fourth runner-up, while Tyler Butler-Figueroa and Duo Transcend finished second and first runners-up, respectively.
