MANILA, Philippines – A doctor director of the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) and another employee were shot dead by a riding-in-tandem in Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City, yesterday morning.
The victims were identified as Dr. Roland Cortez and Ernesto dela Cruz, who also died at the crime scene due to bullet wounds to various parts of the head and body.
Based on the initial report to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District (CIDU-QCPD), the incident took place around 7:00 am along Tandang Sora Avenue, in Brgy Culiat.
Prior to the crime, the victims were riding in a red Toyota Vios, a government vehicle, crossing the said road.
Soon, the unknown assailants appeared, riding a motorcycle, and shot the victims inside the vehicle then quickly fled in an unspecified direction.
Authorities are still investigating the crime to find out the motive for the killing of the victims and who are the people behind it.
