A lawmaker in the House of Representatives exposes what actually happened in the second reading of the forthcoming Anti-Terrorism Bill.
Tweet by Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez yesterday said he had no time to discuss or justify the proposal to punish terrorists or support “terrorist acts.” He went straight to the ballot for the third and final reading.
“Sadly, we were not allowed to properly interpolate, debate, nor propose amendments on the Anti Terrorism bill on 2nd reading yesterday. Directly to the votes today on the 3rd reading, ”Rodriguez said with the hashtag #JunkTerrorBill.
Yesterday, the House passed a proposal approved by 173 congressmen and opposed by 31 others. That is, President Rodrigo Duterte just needs to sign the bill to pass it.
