The Department of Health (DOH) reported a lower number of new COVID-19 cases today. Only 1,987 additional confirmed cases were reported by the agency, as a result of the data submitted by 91 from 113 laboratories.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country today is 228,403. Of these, 65,240 are still recovering.
Of the 1,987 reported cases today, 1,627 (82%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 21 – September 3, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (657 or 40%), Region 4A (347 or 21%) and Region 6 (151 or 9%). ”
Meanwhile, the DOH also reported 880 additional recoveries. The total number of cured is 159,475. While 65 additional to the total deaths are now at 3,688.
“There were 24 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 12 recovered cases have been removed.
“Moreover, there were three (3) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths. ”
