The Philippines has shown interest in the clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
Philippine Ambassador to London Antonio Lagdameo said the clinical trial aims to determine if the vaccine against COVID-19 is safe and effective.
The announcement came after the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca agreed to supply in Europe up to 400 million doses of the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine that is expected to start delivery by the end of the year.
The company also has similar agreements with UK, United States and other organizations.
Last month Oxford University announced that the AZD1222 vaccine was in phase 2/3 of a clinical trial of up to 10,000 people in the UK.
