US Marines Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton has finally left the country this Sunday, September 13.
According to Dana Sandoval, spokesperson for the Bureau of Immigration (BI), it was exactly 9:14 this morning when the military plane left Pemberton.
Earlier, Pemberton was believed to be in a van leaving his jail at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The convoy also arrived quickly at terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 3.
The 25-year-old former soldier finally left the country a day after the results of his swab test came out where he was negative for coronavirus.
It is learned that the said test result is just waiting to be deported to its origin in America.
At around 5:00 this morning, several gates were already open in Camp Aguinaldo and some vehicles and personnel of government agencies outside the jail were noticeable.
There are also many vans in the area, as well as guard soldiers.
This Monday when President Rodrigo Duterte granted an absolute pardon to Pemberton.
In 2015, he was convicted of homicide for the murder of Filipino transgender Jennifer Laude while they were at a motel in Olongapo.
