Drugmaker Johnson & Johnson has temporarily suspended its clinical trial of their coronavirus vaccine due to the unexplained illness of one of the volunteers.
In a statement released by the company, the ENSEMBLE independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) is currently studying the patient’s condition.
It is said that such events are inevitable in a comprehensive clinical study. The said company did not provide further information on what illness their volunteer is experiencing but one of their goals is to find out the side effects of the vaccine being developed.
Experts immediately stop a clinical trial once the volunteers get sick, here they find out if it can be linked to the vaccine or just a coincidence.
