SWAB test result of COVID-19 positive from Solana, company forgotten; was even allowed to work for a few days in Isabela

A private company has forgotten to take over SWAB Test of an employee from Solana, Cagayan. It even worked for a few days in Santiago City, Isabela.

According to Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, medical center chief of Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), a 29-year-old resident of Barangay Nabbotuan, Solana and working as an electrical engineer in Isabela underwent a SWAB Test conducted by his company on the 10th. of June.

The result came out positive for the virus on June 12, but his company had forgotten the test results and had allowed it to work from June 17 to June 22.

On June 22, he arrived in Solana where he learned that he had been active in COVID-19 until Solana’s Rural Health Unit found out and was immediately referred to CVMC.

Dr. Baggao said the patient was asymptomatic and was in good condition at COVID-Ward.

Contact tracing is already underway for possible patient encounters, especially with Isabela being deployed in their various projects.


CVMC has since been diagnosed with the patient’s wife after it showed symptoms of the virus which is now considered a suspected case.


So far, three confirmed cases of COVID-19 are currently being treated at CVMC while eleven are being suspected.

Across Region 02 there are seven new viruses present today, of which three are from Aurora; three in Ilagan City in Isabela province; and one in Solana, Cagayan.

As a result, the number of confirmed cases of covid 19 has risen to 56 in the Cagayan Valley Region
